Great experience at Samoset dental ! I need cleanings more often than other people. Normally I except some pain and discomfort with having my teeth cleaned. But this time with Hygienist Christine Lyons I felt nothing at all ! It was a completely pleasurable and informative experience. As well I drove an hour out of my way because I was recommend to the practice! More than worth the trip . Kk
I had a toothache late on a Friday night, by morning the pain had substantially worsened. I called my dentist, who’s never available & every “emergency” dentist in the area. Nobody was open. Finally call SFD & they answer, make me a same day appointment, but don’t take my insurance. I paid cash for an exam, with an X-ray & a prescription antibiotics & ibuprofen & it was AFFORDABLE. They could have taken advantage of the situation, the pain was unreal, but they were amazing! Everyone in the office was so very kind. They were able to diagnose me quickly, which helped me get the pain under control! Would 100% recommend over & over again!

Where has Dr.Shang been all my life!!
Great dental practice. They have never tried to over-sell me procedures. There is a chain of dental offices that told me I needed extensive extremely expensive procedures done. Although, every time I went there, I was told I needed a different procedure than the time before. Samoset Family Dentist has never done this to me, in fact they have tried to save me money on several occasions. The entire staff is wonderful. I like the fact that they have extended Saturday hours as well. Highly recommend this dental practice.

A great cleaning done by Monica who just got her license to be a dentist in this office. Very clean very friendly and very thorough. My first time going as my periodontal closed his office during covid and is not opening back up. I like the idea of being able to go to one office and getting any and all work that I need done on my teeth. New patient

I just have to say that for someone like me who not too proudly admits that I haven’t seen a dentist in a really long time , had the most pleasant experience with a dental office in my life. I can honestly say I have a new dentist ( Dr.Monica, lol) and will be forever taking better care of my teeth. I highly recommend Dr Sheng and her staff they are wonderful. See you in a month.

Dr. Sheng is an excellent, knowledgeable and caring dentist. I feel extremely comfortable in her chair and will continue to recommend Samoset Family Dental to others. From the moment you walk into the office, you’re greeted by Debbie, who is simply wonderful! Always available to help with all your dental needs. Rylee, the dental assistant is a pleasure to be in the room with - not only is she well informed, she listens, she remembers and she truly cares about the patient.

The staff is wonderful, kind and caring. Just like Dr Sheng, teaching and providing a Calming environment allows for absorption of all education. They explain what they are doing and why it is necessary. They ask frequently if you are in pain or feeling comfortable? BEST PLACE TO BE IF YOU ARE IN NEED OF DENTAL SERVICES!!!!

Quickly fit me in the schedule for an unexpected broken front tooth emergency. Dr. Sheng and Rylee are a great team! Very reassuring and professional. They explain everything they are doing while working on you. I was asked many times if I was comfortable. So gentle I didn’t even need novocaine. End result ... pure artistry! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

I don’t enjoy going to the dentist, but Samoset Family Dental almost makes me enjoy it. Almost. The entire staff is extremely kind and skilled. After not coming for two years and neglecting my cleaning appointments, Samoset FamIly Dental made immediate time to address tooth pain. They were totally cool about it. 10 out of 10.

I was having dental pain and my regular dentist could not fit me in for 3 weeks!! I called to see if I could get in here and my call was promptly returned by a very kind receptionist who asked me about my pain and an appointment was quickly made. I was welcomed by the receptionist in the lobby with a smile. I was brought in to be seen quickly, and the dental assistant, who was also very welcoming and professional, took an xray of the affected area. I have severe bone loss and periodontal disease, which I have had for years, and no other practice has offered any plan except to pull the teeth as they become loose and infected. Dr Sheng was so great!! She went over my xray with me and explained my options in detail. She said "we need to make a plan". I have never felt so included in my own dental care in my life. She took the time to answer my questions, make sure I was informed of all my options, and help me decide the best plan to take going forward. I will absolutely be staying on as a patient with her and her team.
Dr. Sheng,as well as everyone at the Samoset Family Dental practice, is Top notch. My whole family receive dental Care here. It is always done efficiently, painlessly and with a warm “chair side manner.” Dr. Sheng always takes time to explain things thoroughly and answer any questions. Her whole team is very patient with my young children. All around a great place!
A most pleasant dentist office experience . I know that sounds like an oxymoron but true. The staff is so welcoming. The Dentists explain every step and procedure and ensuring that you are as comfortable as you can be.

After wearing the temporary bridge for about two months, I am so happy to have the real one installed. It was an incredible dental experience. Dr. Sheng was gentle yet firm, speedy but accurate. In less than one hour the whole procedure was done and it looks great. Looked back, I’m glad that I followed Dr Sheng’s advice not to do the orthodontics work as it may take a long time and costly too. Dr. Sheng is a perfectionist – she did a few round wax-up models and consulted her colleagues at Boston U Dental school, where she teaches, to tackle this difficult case. It was a best decision to have the bridge done and to have it done by Dr. Sheng. As I walked out the office that morning, an older gentleman sitting in the waiting room smiled at me and said “she is the best”. Yeah, I couldn’t agree more.

Doctor Sheng rocks! She is kind, attentive and funny. I had a tooth in the front of my mouth that was brown from cavity and also very small and awkward. She filled the cavity and placed bonding on it to make it bigger. I get compliments all the time on it and no longer am afraid to smile.:) Thanks Dr. Sheng!!!

Just moved here and had to find a new dentist. My other dentist I had been going to for 31 years my husband and children also saw the same dentist he was awesome. So I was very Leary on switching but moved far enough that I didn’t want that commute. I called and they gave me an appointment that same day for a cleaning all the staff were very professional and super nice. I am very happy I chose this dentist and office

I had been going to one of the chains of what I call dental factories. After getting a questionable recommendation for serious dental work, I decided to go to a private practice. I have been going to Samoset Family Dentistry since I was a little girl. Dr. Horn was wonderful! I am now 42 years old and I still love this office and all the staff. Having been a happy patient and very satisfied patient of Dr. Horn's for many, many years, I was a bit nervous when I learned that the practice had changed hands. I needn't have worried. Dr. Sheng's impressive credentials, welcoming smile and congenial professional manner put me at ease right away. Best of all, the world's best hygienist, Yolanda, is still working her magic on my no-so-perfect teeth and is always supportive and encouraging. Other friendly staff members stayed on too. I had avoided going to the dentist for a couple of years. I went recently and saw the practice I had been going to previously, had been taken over by Dr. Sheng. I was pleasantly surprised to see all the little tweaks and changes she's made that have made all the difference.Dr. Sheng has a wonderful staff, a cute kids corner in the waiting room, a professional yet warm demeanor and a gentle hand. I will be recommending Samoset Family Dental to everyone!
